Privacy policy
Effective date: October 8, 2026
Local Assets ("we", "us", or "our") operates the local-assets.com platform (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Service.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly and information generated through your use of the Service:
- Account information: email address, name, and profile picture (via Google OAuth)
- Venue and business information you configure in the platform
- Media assets (video, audio, images) you upload through the Service
- Usage data: pages visited, features used, timestamps of activity
- OAuth tokens for connected third-party platforms (YouTube, SoundCloud)
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide, operate, and improve the Service
- To process and store your media assets via Mux
- To enable distribution to connected platforms on your behalf
- To communicate with you about your account and the Service
- To monitor system health and troubleshoot issues
3. Data Storage and Third-Party Services
The Service uses the following third-party infrastructure:
- Mux — video and audio asset storage and delivery
- Vercel — application hosting and serverless functions
- Vercel Blob — storage of uploaded images (e.g. marketing thumbnails)
- Redis Cloud — session data and connected-platform tokens
- Neon — database for media processing jobs
- Render — background processing of recordings (e.g. vertical clips)
- Google OAuth — sign-in and YouTube API Services access
- SoundCloud API — audio distribution
Each provider operates under their own privacy policy and data processing agreements.
4. YouTube API Services
The Service uses YouTube API Services. If you choose to connect a YouTube channel, you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of your data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
When you connect YouTube, we request two permissions and use them only as follows:
- Upload videos (youtube.upload) — to upload a recording to your channel, only when you click the YouTube button on that recording in your dashboard.
- View your YouTube account (youtube.readonly) — to show the connected channel's name and view counts on your dashboard.
We do not read your private videos, comments, subscriptions, or any other YouTube account data, and we do not modify or delete existing videos. Channel information is fetched when you view the dashboard and is not stored on our servers (your browser may keep a temporary copy to display it). The only YouTube data we store is the access token Google issues when you connect, which we keep so the Service can act on your instructions.
We do not sell YouTube or Google user data, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone except as needed to perform the actions you request. Local Assets' use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
You can disconnect YouTube at any time from your dashboard, which deletes the stored token immediately. You can also revoke the Service's access from your Google Account at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Stored tokens that are not used for 12 months are deleted automatically.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Media assets are stored until you delete them or terminate your account. Tokens for connected platforms are kept until you disconnect the platform, revoke access, or the token goes unused for 12 months, and can be removed at any time from the dashboard.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We only share data with third-party services as necessary to operate the Service (as listed above), or if required by law.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction or deletion of your data
- Disconnect third-party platform integrations at any time
- Request export of your data
To exercise these rights, contact us at info@local-assets.com.
8. Security
We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data. Authentication uses HMAC-signed tokens with short expiry windows. All data is transmitted over HTTPS.
9. Cookies
The Service uses localStorage for session management. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the effective date above. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
